AKERU Cultural Communications Collective is a unique speakers bureau.
The Collective is comprised of an intimate circle of speakers and workshop presenters who are also popular program
hosts on AKERU Global Network. Providing information on a spectrum of topics that effect our community,
AKERU Cultural Communications Collective, or ACCC, meets your organization's programming needs.






Dr. Anita Davis-DeFoe, host of "Soulfully Speaking" on AKERU Global Network is a
graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Antioch University, and
Columbia Pacific University. She serves as the Director of Quality Assurance of the
Broward Workforce Development Board/WorkForce One. Dr. DeFoe has over fifteen
years of years of grant writing, organization development, quality management and
program management experience. Dr. DeFoe serves as a trainer and consultant to
organizations in the United States and the Caribbean. She is an author of several
books, including “A Woman’s Guide to Soulful Living…Seven Keys to Life and Work
Success.” and writes numerous columns in periodicals throughout the U.S Dr. Defoe
taught high school and college students in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Part of her
mission is also to empower women and girls.

Sister Karen M. Hatter is host of syndicated show & column, "Inside the Eye of the Storm"
on AKERU Global Network, editor & frequent contributor to NowPublic.com. A retired former
government employee in the social service field, Sis. Karen was one of the founding
members of the local Philadelphia, Pennsylvania chapter of the African National
Reparations Organization (ANRO) in 1986. Interviewed by The Final Call Newspaper in
February 2006, Ms. Hatter spoke out against the National Children's Study, a proposed
national 21-year genetic and tracking study targeting African, Hispanic and Native American
children, under the direction of the National Institutes of Health. She was a popular frequent
contributor and guest on the U.K. Internet station, GAPRadio, hosted by Spartacus R.
Sis. Karen has been a featured guest on LIBRadio, hosted by Keidi Obi Awadu, in a segment
entitled The Politics of DNA. Ms. Hatter is a thought-provoking analyst, whose commentary
is a catalyst to aid the process of revolutionary action and change. An essay written by

Imakhu (Rev.) Atef HruKhuti Geb Ast provides "Sayings for Success," for
AKERU Global Network. Master salesman, martial artist, and ordained minister from NJ, Atef
HruKhuti is a career salesman who can attest to the power of positivity and determination. At a
pivotal life cycle years ago, he ignored every "No" he had been told about what he could
achieve as a Black man and decided to embrace "Yes." He changed his mind and changed his
life by becoming a real estate agent and changing his circle of associates to positively
empowered people.
Imakhu Atef Hrukhuti is also a man of deep faith. An ankh carrying priest, Imakhu Atef serves
as Sacred Shrine of Mwt Ast's Shrine Father, Chief High Priest, and Counselor. A veteran
spiritual counselor, originally ordained at age fourteen as a Christian faith minister,
Imakhu Atef HruKhuti eventually received Kemetic priesthood initiation and his ankh through
the Shrine of Khpra by Grandmaster Kham of Brooklyn, NY. Imakhu Atef HruKhuti's gained the
title of High Priest, Spiritual Warrior, Ordained Minister and Metaphysical Healing Minister
through Sacred Shrine of Mwt Ast. He received additional metaphysical/mystery school
teachings through Sa Sefket Aubi. Imakhu Atef HruKhuti provides workshops in
Master Salesmanship, Self-Empowerment, and Healing Black Relationships & Family.

Queen Mother Imakhu Shekemet is the creator, producer, engineer, and owner of
AKERU Global Network & Media Enterprises.
Artist, motivational speaker, author, and radio personality, IMAKHU is known as the
conscious, down-to-earth ordained Kemetic minister, Queen Mother, and Elder High
Priestess who also hosts and produces her popular syndicated radio & TV show, ASHE!
Imakhu is known for sharing honest personal stories of her own life experiences which
include overcoming rape, spousal abuse, disability, parental challenges, and career
challenges as a conscious cultural artist, female drummer/musician, and multimedia
producer.
Because of her unique vantage point as a minister, mother of adult children, cultural artist,
writer/columnist, lecturer, activist, and multimedia producer, Rev. Shekemet stresses the
importance of African Americans creating and holding on to Black culture and traditions.
She shares her views in her lectures, "Keeping Cultural Traditions in the Black Family" and
"Restoring African American Protocol to Heal the Black Family."
Imakhu’s performances, lectures, and workshops reinforce the importance of perpetuating
family oral tradition. Imakhu Mwt Shekemet Hetep Maati is deeply committed to the
reclamation and teaching of the Afrakan origins of the metaphysical tradition. She is also
committed to activism toward building bridges of peace within the global community.

Herbalist, Activist, &" Warrior Womban" Mut Melanin Tafari, shares metaphysical
wisdom for balanced living on her show, "More Love Essentials."
Mut Melanin is a longtime warrior for the Global Black Community. Born, raised, and
residing in Toronto, Canada, Mut Melanin is employed by Toronto District School
Board as a Temporary Child and Youth Worker and Educational Assistant. She is an
active member of the Cultural Educators of Toronto, One Love Foundation-Universal
Afrikan Community League, the Rastafari Unity Movement, and is a Sister of the I.S.I.S
circle. She is a frequent guest on News Now 105.5 CHRYFM hosted by LadyLoxxs,
Wednesdays 5-6pm. A devoted mother of four, Mut Melanin has a deep interest in
teaching the youth Afrikan culture. Her love of community and creativity has extended
to her business, "More Love Essentials," offering oils, Custom Crochet wear,
Himalayan Crystal Bath salts and Lamps, Aromatherapy products, AfrikanKarite’
Reflexology, and Pre-Paid Legal care.
